After a small departure, I finally was able to come back to the Greek Pantheon series that I was working on! Here is my newest entry: Hermes, Herald to the Greek Gods.
Besides being the Ancient Greek equivalent of text messaging, Hermes was also the patron god of travel, diplomacy, cunning and animal husbandry. His trademark symbols were his winged sandals and the caduceus (a winged staff entwined with twin serpents). Some of his associated animals were the tortoise, hare, hawk and ram.
Made from 8oz tooling leather, hand cut, shaped and then painted with acrylics.
