This is a commission that I did for a dance production in Hong Kong called "The Gnostic Eden".

These masks (Lion, Donkey, Hyena, Seven-Headed Serpent, Dragon, Ape and Fiery Face (here, a phoenix) portray seven figures called Archons who each have an associated animal or a specific description.

The client liked my Egyptian masks and wanted to add small Egyptian flavors here and there, so I integrated a few symbols to the masks.

Each mask is made from 8oz tooling leather, carved, tooled and shaped by hand and painted with acrylics.
